Saldanha / Duque d'Ávila
Simply a wonderful place to stay!

Saldanha is one of the many centres of Lisbon. It's ideally located to explore the city. It's a wonderful starting point because you have all the comfort of many restaurants, cafes, small shops, services and shopping centres near you and in addition you're only small walk away from Marquês do Pombal city square, from Avenida da Liberdade - the most luxury and exclusive avenue in Portugal - and the south parishes for which Lisbon is most known for, like Alfama, Chiado, Bairro Alto and Principe Real. All of which you can reach with a 15-20 min walk, or in a few minutes by metro.

Saldanha is a mix of residential and business centre, so the area gets a little crowded during the day, but you get to experience the real Lisbon with its buzz and alive demeanor. Around the apartment you get to explore different street vibes and feelings.
By night only the residents are left - so you get a different more cozy experience.

For getting some sun, this is one of the best places to stay, due to it's proximity to the beautiful Marquês do Pombal Park and the Garden of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Both are wonderful for taking art photos, having a coffee and loosing yourself in the different areas of the park. Also great for some morning jogging. The Foundation is always hosting different events and expositions so you should check it out!

The street where the apartment is located is unique. Avenida Duque d'Avila has been completely re-worked in the last decade into a pedestrian avenue full of nice cafes, and shops, right in front of the apartment. Really cool.
Avenida da República is another avenue you should explore, right on your doorstep. You will be inspired!
